Forces and motion
The children will find out about, and using scientific language, describe the movement of familiar things e.g. cars going faster, slowing down, changing direction.
The children will also be carrying out fair tests to help them understand that when objects speed up, slow down or change direction, there is a cause e.g., a push or a pull or friction from a surface. The children will collect information and record their finding on graphs and tables.

Say No to Bullying
This theme aims to develop four of the key social and emotional aspects of learning covered in previous themes through a focus on bullying – what it is, how it feels, why people bully, how we can prevent and respond to it, and how children can use their social, emotional and behavioural skills to tackle this crucial problem. The four aspects of learning in which knowledge, skills and understanding are developed are self-awareness, empathy, managing feelings and social skills.
