Year One Targets

Writing
  •  I can use my sounds and some keywords to write
  •  I am starting to use capital letters and full stops
  •  I can use finger spaces
  •  I can tell a grown up what my writing says
 Next steps  -  I am using adjectives and connectives
                     -  I am starting to check my own work against the success criteria
 
Reading
  • I can read the keywords I know
  • I use my sounds to help me read
  • I can talk about a book
  • I don’t wait for an adult to prompt me
        Next Steps - I can talk about the differences between fiction and non - fiction
                            - I can say what i think might happen next
Numeracy
  • I can read and write numbers to 10
  • I can talk about 2D shapes and some 3D shapes
  • I can find numbers on a number line
  • I am getting better at counting in 2’s and 10’s
      Next Steps  - I am getting better at counting in 5's
